The Power Monitor will receive data from any communicating generator in the same region and display its real-time virtual output power. A simple, but scripted, photovoltaic module (solar panel) is provided as a 'starter', but the Monitor is also designed to operate with a range of wind turbines (see Related Items below).
The Module may be set up at any orientation and the size changed to suit the environment, but a horizontal orientation will result in the highest power output. It is scripted to respond to the true sun direction in SL, but custom variations on this algorithm can be supplied at no charge.
The Monitor has a dialogue menu which displays a button list of up to 9 available generators, which may be situated anywhere in the region. On selection, the output power is displayed in engineering format, together with generator name and status. The information notecard gives full details of the formulae used to perform the calculations.
