Translated Literally, Attivo is Italian for "Active" A name with a long history on many navy ships throughout history. Built as a small "Sloop" class for SPD based Ship to ship combat, Attivo was conceived and designed to be slightly different from the many other sloop class ships out there -She lacks Forward Chasers.
Like all Black Rose Ships thus far, Attivo is a "tartana" style ship. Slender with pointed ends forwards and aft, She slips through the waves easily under her powerful Lateen Rig. The Mediterranean, for which these ships were designed, is an unpredictable body of water. In the winter cold winds sweep down from Russia, funneled by the alps into fierce storms, but in summer sand depositing winds rise up off of the Sahara to teach unsuspecting captains a thing or two about the ultimate forces on this planet. Due to this, the ability to sail into the wind is high prized, as is having a truly seaworthy ship.
Attivo is a fast ship, better all around than Fortuna. While her powerful mainsail can be a handful to manage when tacking, her two jibs bring her pointed bow through the wind quickly and onto her new tack. While "running" with the wind may not be her strong suite, she can make the best use of all other "points" from Close hauled to a broad reach
