Named after the infamous ship in Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, This merchant ship is anything but a "no win situation". The Kobayashi Maru allows any and all captains to try out my new line of Asian Styled combat ships at absolutely no cost.
Kobayashi Maru is a generally narrow ship, but lacks the pointed ends found in ships from most parts of the world, making her more of a "box" when it comes to being a target. Her superstructure can also be targeted, making her even easier to hit.
Slicing through the waves under the power of two Chinese style Lug sails, Kobayashi Maru is a fairly fast ship, but slower than Akisame. Like all such ships that lack large square sails, running downwind is her slowest point of sail, but she is still a bit faster than my earlier vessels.
A "sloop" in all but name and armament, Kobayashi is the same size and has the same Hit points of other similar ships. Compared to them she is lightly armed and should run if confronted with anything larger than a Light Class. Her three guns can be used to protect against larger ships, but do not expect to survive long.
Kobayashi Maru was one of those ships that vexed me for quite a while. I had built several versions and destroyed them all until I finally found a design I truly liked. I hope you do as well. Like Akisame, her sails are works of art from Angelic Helling of Red Sails Shipyard and the rest of her mesh is from the hand of Adekin. You will be seeing more ships from this team in the future.

It is functional
If you like boats, Asian culture, experimenting and trying things, this is entertaining and functional, it is modifiable so you can also be creative and make your prosnalization with it.

For the price, this ship really deserve 5 stars. I redid some minor cosmetic issues, but who should complain for zero linden? Easy to handle good sailer, no problem with sim crossings. Somebody with a bit building and texture skills will have fun to give this ship his own "looks".
